A survey by iVeto revealed that German companies rely on artificial intelligence to gain new ideas and insights.

The survey, which was determined by the management consulting firm Deloitte, showed that the percentage of companies that rely on artificial intelligence has become a contributing factor, the most important of which is in creating freedom of choice, with exceptions from 17% to 29%.

In contrast, German assets show that only 45% of companies include their assets necessary to increase through artificial intelligence, compared to 67% a year ago.

In terms of costs, 29% of companies reported that they rely on artificial intelligence for this, compared to 33% a year earlier.

“This shows that the innovation culture in German companies is improving,” said Björn Bringmann, an expert at Deloitte. “German companies used to focus too much on immediate efficiency,” he said. “Now the technology that AI provides is better understood and used in a more targeted way. Companies need to focus more on innovation and growth, and that’s where AI has a big added value.”

Generative AI

Companies’ reliance on AI to focus on customer relations also increased from 19% to 23%, and nearly a quarter of German companies were able to move more than half of their experiences with generative AI into production, which is significantly higher than the global average (16%).

59% of the companies surveyed intend to invest more in AI in the future in light of the results achieved through the use of AI. Three-quarters of companies have increased their investments in cloud solutions to create a strong database for future AI initiatives. However, problems remain when it comes to recruiting experts in dealing with AI and data management, with “German companies clearly below the international average.”

35% of the companies surveyed see the lack of experts as a major barrier to growth through AI. Only with experts and effective training of employees can the potential of AI be fully exploited, said Bringmann. “This also applies to managers.” When it comes to data management, German companies rank second to last among 14 countries, with only 33% of German companies saying they consider themselves very well prepared in this area, compared to a global average of 41%.

“Companies need to make significant improvements in these areas if they are to exploit the full potential of AI,” said Bringmann. Deloitte surveyed 150 companies in Germany and more than 2,770 companies worldwide.
